So the most notable event this year so far has been our final approval to transfer to Saint George. After 5 years in the Basin, it was bittersweet. Our Roosevelt home was too tiny for us but we put so much time and effort into it, it was sad to say goodbye. We also made some life long friends during our time there and we will never forget living in the Basin. The move was quite a mess. Extremely stressful while selling our home and then problems with the Uhaul. Matthew moved to Saint George 4 months before me and the kids so it was quite a lot on mommy's plate. But in the end everything worked out, we all survived, most of our items made it and we are happier than ever. People keep teasing me about the heat of Saint George. I'm not gonna lie, it gets HOT! There have been days the temperature reads 116 or higher.
But I'm also not going to lie when I tell you that I LOVE IT! I'm a sunshine kind of girl and if there's a swimming pool and parks with shade, I can take the heat. I have been able to successfully run every day I've wanted. Going at 5 am is the best time. It's perfect weather and just lighting up, it starts my day of so amazing.
Since the move this year, we are not going to be able to take our typical California vacation and since we are a good 6-7 hours closer we had a wonderful visit from our mothers. Both my mom and Matthew's mom came to visit shortly after the move. Matthew had a day off and we wanted to do one of those typical "touristy" things you don't usually do once you move somewhere, so we headed up to the national park.
Zions isn't that far from where we now call home. It took us about an hour to get there. We spent most of the time driving around to show the kids all the rock formations and stuff.
(Pardon my non-photography skills and it was so sunny and in the car caused a lot of glare.)
Their favorite part was going through the tunnel. Being claustrophobic, I won't lie, I almost had an anxiety attack. It didn't help the husband thought it was funny and teased me the whole time.
The kids had a blast with both Grandma and Nana around.
And how could they not be thrilled when Daddy had the day off?!?!
(Yes, the boys had mohawks for the day)
The boys were quite the adventurers!
And we had to take some pictures with Mommy!
And of course, some family pics!
We took lots of pictures.
